American Heart Association
The health and well-being of our employees and their families are at the forefront of our community projects. That’s why Perspecta supports organizations like the American Heart Association (AHA). Each year, hundreds of Perspecta volunteers put on their walking shoes in cities around the country, join their neighbors, raise money, and advance the mission of AHA—to help build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Through Heart Walks across the nation since 2015 and the D.C. Heart Ball in 2020, Perspecta has led AHA fundraising efforts by contributing more than $3.2 million in support of their mission.
Military Bowl presented by Perspecta
As a leading provider of services that support national security and other critical government missions, Perspecta has been a long-standing supporter of the Military Bowl and an emphatic cheerleader for the causes supported by the Military Bowl Foundation, including the United Services Organization (USO-Metro) and Patriot Point. In 2020, Perspecta became the Bowl’s presenting sponsor.
Since veterans and reservists comprise nearly 20% of our workforce, we consider members of the armed services a part of our family. Their dedication to our country drives our commitment to support their essential missions each and every day. We are honored to pay tribute to American men and women in uniform around the world by serving as the presenting sponsor for this highly anticipated, landmark event.
At Perspecta, military and veteran causes are foundational to our corporate social responsibility platform. So to us, the Military Bowl Foundation, USO-Metro and Patriot Point just make sense. It’s a way for us to pay it both forward and backward for the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice while defending American values.
Oh. And we also happen to LOVE college football. Our highly skilled team of people, many of whom graduated from academic institutions that compete in the ACC and American conferences, is proud to enable the time-honored tradition of watching the best athletes in college sports compete at an elite level in the prestigious and renowned Military Bowl.
Home of the Brave campaign
Perspecta is deeply committed to honoring veterans and providing support to military families. The Home of the Brave campaign was founded in 2012 by employees who now work at Perspecta to provide their colleagues the opportunity to honor and show their gratitude for veterans on or around Veterans Day. The mission of the campaign supports every generation of veteran for the sacrifices made in service to our country. Over six years, the campaign honored 165,242 veterans and in September 2020, Perspecta gifted the campaign to Soldiers' Angels—a national nonprofit organization based in San Antonio, Texas.
Following the gift, the campaign is now officially branded as Soldiers’ Angels Home of the Brave. Last year, in the span of one week, Soldiers’ Angels Home of the Brave recruited the support of a total of 650 company volunteers who contributed over 4,000 hours of their time to support and honor 22,761 veteran patients across the country. In total, Soldiers’ Angels Home of the Brave provided aid across 41 states, plus Puerto Rico and raised $93,505 in donations to support VA patients. Soldiers' Angels is continuing the campaign's great work and through strategic partnerships, is working to expand the program in future years.
March of Dimes
Perspecta has been an avid supporter of the annual Heroines of Washington event hosted by the March of Dimes since 2014 and has proudly served as its presenting sponsor since 2018. This landmark event recognizes and honors professional women in the Washington, D.C. Metro Area for going above and beyond in their communities and dedicating their free time to serving others. Over the years, Perspecta has nominated 5 winners and countless finalists.
Funds raised at the event are donated back to the March of Dimes in support of their fight for the health of all moms and babies. Since 2001, the event has honored 125+ “heroines” and raised more than $3.1 million for the March of Dimes.
Science, technology, engineering and math (STEM)
We are able to solve our nation’s toughest challenges because we have an expert team of people who started their careers as STEM students in the classroom. That’s why we are proud to support various STEM initiatives to help inspire students to explore their interest in technical fields. Through our involvement with organizations like Every Girl Can, the Academies of Loudoun (AOL)/Academy of Engineering and Technology (AET) Innovation Challenge and the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology Robotics Team, we invest time and focus in fostering the technology talent of tomorrow.
Volunteer work in local communities
Perspecta invests in communities where our employees live and work. Our employees have historically shared in this commitment by playing an active and integral role in company-sponsored and personal volunteer activities. With organizations like Habitat for Humanity, Feeding America, and other local charities, our employee volunteers donate their time, talent and energy to help strengthen their communities and improve the quality of life worldwide.
